2018 was a spectacular time for slot fans and iGaming developers, but with some of the biggest studios already releasing new slots we thought it might be a good idea to see what the three big names have already got lined up for 2019.

Microgaming

Of the many iGaming development studios that exist, few are more famous than Microgaming. As you may already know, this one company is responsible for the Avalon and Thunderstruck series, as well as Mermaid Millions, Lucky Leprechaun, Cool Wolf and dozens of other big hitters. It seems Microgaming don’t plan on giving up their crown anytime soon either, as they already have several slots scheduled for the next few months.

The first release this year is Book of Oz, and we’re sure you can work out which franchise this slot is based on. What we didn’t expect was the fact this game’s mechanics are inspired by Book of Ra, which pretty much seals the deal as far as entertainment value goes. Next up we’ve got Zombie Hoard, which has actually been designed by a partner studio rather than in-house. Since this game will be appearing at all Microgaming casinos, we assume that Slingshot studios have done a great job. Third on the schedule is The Great Albini, designed by another out-of-house studio, Foxium. According to sources, this slot is inspired by an early era of magic and will feature magicians performing tricks at either side of the reels. Finally, in February we should expect a mysterious slot titled Shogun of Time, which apparently has steampunk and Japanese influences but is set in the future.

Quickspin

Of all the leading iGaming software developers, Quickspin is definitely dealing out the most surprises. Already we’ve been graced with Divine Dreams, an Indonesia-inspired slot where you get to meet a Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity face-to-face, which is already available at some online casino platforms. Just before that slot was released, we also received Juan and the Immortal King.

Just in case Juan and Divine Dreams don’t keep you entertained over the next few months though, Quickspin have already lined up another slot entitled Ticket to The Stars. In this new game, set to be released on February 12th, 2019, players will begin their journey on our humble home planet, gazing up at the stars, searching for adventure, romance and wealth. According to Quickspin themselves, “every point of light is a potential vacation destination. Where would you like to go? Fear not, Quickspin will help you traverse the solar system!” Very cryptic indeed. Where ever players will travel during this game, chances are they’ll be playing the 5 reels to get there, in hopes of winning bonuses and free spins. As for any other upcoming games, we recommend checking their portfolio regularly for even more surprises!

NetEnt

Finally, we have the big guns: NetEnt. This powerhouse of an iGaming studio never disappoints, so it’s no surprise they’ve already for four slots lined up for January alone. First, we have Strolling Stax, a pretty regular 5 reel. fruit themed slot, and then right on the heels of that there’s Turn Your Fortune, which is already available. This Art Noveau style slot is NetEnt’s first innovative release of the year and so far it’s getting some good reviews.

NetEnt’s next new release is Mercy of the Gods, a beautiful Ancient Egyptian-themed slot, and they’ll be finishing off January with Golden Grimoire. Much like Microgaming’s The Great Albini, it seems NetEnt have been inspired by the magicians of the early 20thcentury. Each and every one of these slots is/will be undoubtedly beautiful, with stunning sound design and great bonuses. After all, this is NetEnt we’re talking about.

That’s all we know about these three studios right now, but we’re sure more games will be announced soon. If you know of any upcoming releases from these three powerhouses, or from any other slot developers for the matter, let us know in the comments below.
